Pastel on Paper, 9 x 10.5 in
I love the radishes, but I’m not pleased with the composition. I struggled setting it up and thought that the knife fixed the problems, but I feel differently seeing the final picture.

I started a pastel today but couldn’t finish it because the light changed so I did this drawing. I focused on indicating the change in the way things look under glass (which I’m pleased with and indicated shadows without gray. I don’t think that the dots work great, I will try something else in the future. I’m happy with the texture I captured in the paint brushes.

I’m pretty happy with this, particularly the gold (gold is so fun!). Details are hard with pastel, so I think I will either focus on larger pictures or maybe get some pastel pencils. Either way, I’m still loving the medium and really excited about the class I’m taking in January.

I’m very happy with this one! Particularly the gold foil and the tablecloth. I seem to have captured the sugar bowl at a different angle than the cup, but this felt great to make, pastel may be my medium!

6 x 10 in pencil on paper.
This is 1.5×1.5 in! That is smaller than I think I like to work.
